Shoplifter Charged With Robbery


Evesham Township Police arrested a Glassboro man accused of assaulting an employee at the Marshalls store on Route 73. On Thursday, May 24, police responded to the Marshalls store for a male shoplifter who had allegedly assaulted a store loss prevention employee. The man, 34 year-old Edglar Serrano-Tapia, was detained by shoppers until the police arrived.

Serrano-Tapia was taken into custody for robbery and shoplifting $200.00 worth of clothing. Police say they also found him to be in possession of crack cocaine, heroin and pills. He was taken to the Burlington County Jail and charged with 2nd degree robbery, 4th degree shoplifting and 3rd degree drug possession.
